How does DepositPartner™ work?
DepositPartner™ is a web-based software product that allows a business to send check deposits to the bank without leaving the office. Using a special check scanner, an image is created of the front and back of each check. These images are sent electronically to the bank for deposit.

What do I do with the paper checks after I scan and transmit the file?
The paper checks must be stored in a secure, fire resistant area for 30 days, and then destroyed by shredding or burning.

Can a Sole Proprietor (DBA) use DepositPartner™?
Yes, any business account can use DepositPartner™.

Does the system accept Postal Money Orders, Cashier Checks or Travelers Checks?
Yes, as long as the image is clear, DepositPartner™ accepts any valid US check.

Can I buy my scanner somewhere else?
No, you must purchase the scanner from our authorized dealer, Superior Press. They have tested the scanner thoroughly and have a warranty and replacement program in place for you. There is no “mark up”. In fact, the equipment receives a volume discount for Johnson Bank clients. These scanners cannot be purchased elsewhere for a lower price.

Can I use a different scanner than the one you recommend?
No, Johnson Bank has selected this scanner based upon its compatibility with the software, and ease of use. If another scanner is purchased, it most likely will not work. If it does work, we cannot guarantee the quality of the images, and will not be able to assist you when you have problems or issues with the scanner.

How are the scanning equipment costs debited from my account?
Johnson Bank is not the seller of the equipment, so the equipment fee is directly debited from your checking account by Superior Press.

Are there any items that cannot be processed on DepositPartner?
Cash cannot be processed, and foreign checks cannot be processed. In some situations, the scanner may not be able to read critical check information. In those circumstances, the original check will need to be deposited.

How do I redeposit a NSF item through the scanner?
If a deposited item is returned, it will be in the form of an Image Replacement Document (IRD). You can run the IRD through the scanner just like a check.

Are there any options for purchasing the scanner?
Johnson Leasing will lease a scanner to any qualified client over a two year term. The monthly lease payments are approximately $75 with this option.

What is the interest rate if I choose to lease a scanner?
The interest rate is 9.5%.

How do I know if my system meets the technical requirements for DepositPartner?
Your Johnson Bank Cash Management Relationship Manager will give you a list of technical requirements that must be met to use the product. He/She can help you determine whether you need to add any hardware of software to use DepositPartner™.

How many password attempts will I have before getting locked out of DepositPartner?
A user will get locked out after five unsuccessful login attempts. To have your password reset, you will need to contact the Cash Management Support department.

How many characters do my user ID and password have to contain?
User IDs need to be at least six characters in length, but not more than 10 characters. Passwords need to be at least eight characters in length, but not more than 16 characters and must include at least one number and one symbol.

How often do I need to change my password?
Passwords will not expire every 60 days. The system will prompt you to change your password. If you would like to change your password, you will need to contact the Cash Management Support department.

Will I need to open a new port on the firewall to use DepositPartner?
Ports 80 and 443 need to be opened bi-directionally.

What is the life expectancy of the scanner?
There is no real life expectancy of the scanner. The manufacturer tested this and ran 5 million items through, of course keeping up on the expected maintenance, and the scanner was still running like new.

How do I know the data is secure over the internet?
Johnson Bank has a SSL certificate that uses a 128-bit SSL encryption for all transmissions (the same encryption technology that allows you to securely make online purchases with your web browser).
