Scott Kelly, former president of Johnson Bank-Racine, has moved into corporate credit in a company reorganization.
Russ Weyers, chief operating officer for parent company Johnson Financial Group, announced the changes on Monday with a news release and phone interview.
Kelly, who joined Johnson Bank in 1991, took his new role, senior vice president for corporate credit, effective Monday. He will work with the bank’s eight regions.
As such, Kelly, who had reported directly to Weyers, will now report to the chief credit officer, Weyers said. He called it a promotion for Kelly, saying he had been a bank president for a long time and had decided to take on different responsibilities.
“(Kelly) has been instrumental in leading and growing the Racine division of our bank since he assumed the role in 2001,” Weyers said in the news release. “We’re pleased to have him further his career with us.”
In the reorganization, Johnson Bank-Kenosha President Thomas Mahoney takes over the bank’s top spot for both Racine and Kenosha. The Kenosha resident joined Johnson Bank in 1995 and has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Mahoney began his career as a certified public accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Milwaukee. He earned an MBA from Marquette University.
Mahoney became Johnson Bank’s president of the Kenosha region in 2000 after working for the bank’s Milwaukee division.
Kelly’s community service posts have included Downtown Racine Corp. board member, Racine Development Group president, Racine Historical Society treasurer, Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce board member and United Way chairman for Johnson Bank.
